Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data has become increasingly important for investors, regulators, and various stakeholders who want to assess the sustainability of companies. The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (“Stock Exchange”) in November 2022 published “2022 Analysis of ESG Practice Disclosure” which states their commitment to continuously improve the quality of ESG information by encouraging independent assurance and enhancing disclosures where independent assurance of ESG reports is obtained. 

Effective ESG data management is essential for companies to report their sustainability performance, which involves collecting, verifying, analyzing, and reporting on a wide range of sustainability metrics, while assurance of ESG Report can enhance companies’ credibility with investors by verifying that their ESG data is accurate, reliable, and consistent with industry best practices.

In this webinar, we will highlight the latest trend of ESG assurance and their rationale and implications for the listed companies. Besides, the latest disclosures examples will also be used to help understand how to adopt and achieve ESG data management and assurance. The speakers will also compare the contents between the different assurance standards and guidelines to demonstrate the strictness of the proposal.

She specializes in providing Sarbanes-Oxley Act services and performing internal control reviews,  enterprise risk management and other strategic review engagements for clients from a wide range of industries. Gloria also leads various      projects in compliance, corporate governance, internal controls review, financial due diligence and IT audit.

Jennifer Law Manager, SW Hong Kong Jennifer has had 7 years of experience in sustainable development and ESG advisory services. She has taken part in numerous ESG advisory projects for IPO clients and Hong Kong listed companies, covering a wide range of sectors such as garment, automobile, electricity, finance, property development and telecommunication etc.  Jennifer leads various ESG researches and compile sustainability reports. She also works with clients, providing sustainability and ESG consultation, to enhance the ESG rating and disclosure.
